The Trusted Choice Big I Junior Classic is one of the most prestigious junior events in the US and the SJGT will once again conduct four state qualifiers for this year’s Big I. The state qualifiers include: Alabama(Vestavia Junior Classic – May 28-29), Florida(Stonebrook Junior Classic – June 17-18), Georgia(West Lake – July 7-8), and Tennessee(Willow Creek Junior Classic – June 17-18). Players (ages 14-18) that are participating in these events will have the option of trying to be their state representative at the Big I. Players from Alabama that are in the field at Vestavia may try to qualify. Players from Florida that are in the field at Stonebrook may try to qualify. Players from Georgia that are in the field at West Lake may try to qualify. Players from Tennessee that are in the field at Willow Creek may try to qualify. There will be one male qualifier and one female qualifier at each of these events. There will be an additional $25 fee for those who wish to qualify. The SJGT is proud to announce an addition to the 2008 tournament schedule. The Fallen Oak Junior Classic will take place on July 2-3 in Biloxi, Mississippi. Fallen Oak is a Tom Fazio design that was ranked in 2007 as the #2 US public course with guest fees over $75. The course is exclusively available to guests of the Beau Rivage Hotel and Casino in Biloxi and has a regular guest fee of $300 per person. The tournament entry fee for this event will be $165. The SJGT will have a block of rooms during the tournament at Beau Rivage at a rate of $99 per room. The typical rate at Beau Rivage during the tournament is $159 per room. The registration period for the Fallen Oak Junior Classic is May 13-20. We will have more information about the event on the Tournament Info page soon.
